Dolphins Plus is committed to the conservation and protection
of marine mammals worldwide through education, research,
experiential learning, and environmental awareness. Our
facility is just an hour drive south of Miami, in sunny
Key Largo, Florida (Florida Keys). We are located on a
canal, adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean, thus creating natural
seawater homes for our Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and
California sea lions. This creates an enriching and stimulating
environment for both our marine mammals and our customers,
who are invited to swim with our dolphins and sea lions.
Our sea lion and dolphin swims entail a once in a lifetime
opportunity to get up close and personal with our dolphins
and sea lions for an exhilarating and unforgettable experience.
In addition, we offer one of the most exceptional marine
mammal educational experiences available to students
of all ages, as well as a research program designed to
promote a greater understanding of marine mammals worldwide.

Dolphin Care, the Marine
Mammal Conservancy, and the Southeast Marine Mammal
Stranding Network.

 Dolphins
Plus offers a variety of daily Dolphin
Swims and a Sea Lion Swim
to individuals of all ages (7 and above). Unlike many
other dolphin facilities that limit a swim with dolphins
program to a shallow water encounter, we provide the unique
opportunity to enter our dolphins’ homes for a true
swimming with dolphins experience. You will participate
in a variety of one-on-one dolphin encounters and/or sea-lion
interactions, under the guidance of our highly trained
staff.
Our Structured
Dolphin Swims are hands-on dolphin encounters, during
which each individual will participate in a variety of
trained behaviors (e.g. belly rubs, kisses, and dorsal
tows) with our dolphins. This swim with the dolphins program
is mediated by an experienced dolphin trainer.
During our Natural
Dolphin Swims, individuals will enter the water with
mask, fins and snorkel to participate in an open swimming
with dolphins session (no direct contact). We are the
only facility in the country that offers this exceptional,
truly unique dolphin swim experience, which simulates
swimming with dolphins in the wild.
Our Sea Lion
Encounter is similar to that of the Structured
Dolphin Swim, in which individuals will enter the
water and participate in a variety of hands-on encounters
with our sea lion, Wono.
Our Dolphin
Education program is a highly dynamic, exceptional
learning experience, developed for students of all ages
whom are interested in learning more about marine mammals
and local marine ecosystems. We also offer the opportunity
to become a Trainer
for a Day or a Dolphins Plus intern in our Internship
Program.
Dolphins Plus also accepts proposals for sea lion and
Dolphin Research from
principle investigators around the world. As part of our
mission statement, we are committed to assist in providing
a growing database of scientific knowledge about marine
mammals.

Swim with Wild Dolphins
in the Bahamas
Voyage aboard the MV Gulfstream Eagle on week long
dolphin adventures. The Eagle and her crew will take excellent
care of you and your family while you explore the West
End and Grande Bahama area for resident pods of Atlantic
Bottlenose Dolphins and Atlantic Spotted Dolphins.

Swim with Dolphins at Dolphin Cove
Our sister facility, Dolphin
Cove, is also a marine mammal research and education
center, located just north of our facility on US 1. Their
beautiful bayside basin is home to 8 bottlenose dolphins,
and they offer the exceptional swim with dolphins programs
pioneered by Dolphins Plus in the early 80s. They also
offer a variety of Everglades
Eco-Tours and Backcountry Kayak Trips.
